1. THE SHORT DESCRIPTION

This mod is my Morrowind version of an existing castle in Larochette Luxembourg. It is a Manor in Imperial style located West of Suran (just across the rope bridge). It contains a large Display Hall with armor mannequins and displaycases, a small attic, a Library, an Alchemy Room (largely inspired by Phoebe's excellent mod "Abu's Retreat", and used with her kind permission), a Quarters for the Master or the Lady of the Manor, a Kitchen, a Storage Room and a Guard Barracks.

2. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

To install the plugin, unzip the files into your Morrowind\Data Files directory. The RAR file contains the right directory structure for the Meshes and Textures, so everything should go into its right place. If however this does not work: unzip the Crhange Manor RAR file onto your desktop or a temporary folder and move the items manually. The Crhange Manor V1.1.esp goes into your Data Files folder and you need to check it when you launch Morrowind. The meshes go into the Meshes folder inside the Data Files folder. Please note that within the Meshes folder there are several Subfolders, for example "f " or "c" or RN. Just open up each subfolder from the Crhange Manor RAR file that you unzipped and copy and paste into the right folders. The textures go into the Texture folder inside your Data Files folder, there are no subfolders for this.
Please note: if you have also installed the "Abu's Retreat" mod, you will probably get warning messages when copying or unzipping the Crhange Manor files into the Meshes and Textures folders. The filenames for the alchemy jars in my mod are exactly the same as those in the "Abu's Retreat" mod. So you can overwrite them or not, this won't make any difference, just as long these files are installed.

This plugin has been tested on both a Morrowind only setup with latest patch 1.20722 applied, and on a Morrowind + Tribunal + Bloodmoon setup with latest patch 1.6.1820 applied.
For playing this plugin only Morrowind is required, no Tribunal or Bloodmoon.
I cleaned this plugin with GMST Cleaner 1.1 to remove the socalled "dirty GMST entries", if you don't know what these are, I would suggest not to worry about them, it's clean!

3. PLAYING THE PLUGIN

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the Crhange Manor V1.1.esp.

4. SAVE GAMES

This plugin should not invalidate your old saved games. If you save your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages when you reload the saved game without the plugin. Also note that in case you had placed weapons or other stuff in the Manor, and you reload a savegame without this plugin, this stuff will be gone from your game. But you should be able to continue on with the original game.

Further notes on save games and doubling (copied in part from Phoebe's ReadMe for her mod Abu's Retreat).
I'd advise people to not save a game until the display cases doors/lids are back in their original closed position. If you have a problem with the teleport ring doubling, put it in a container while you save your game. Please note: these are just precautions, I have not had any problem with doubling while testing and playing this mod.
These are certainly many more reasons for doubling and below are 2 sites which explain it more fully & also how to clean a savegame, in which doubling has already occurred.

5. CREDITS

First of all; Bethesda for the wonderful game.

Then, in random order:

Viking Lord for his mod Anastasio the Great's Hideout and Phoebe for her mod Abu's Retreat. These two are my favourite house mods for Morrowind (until now of course...) and I love the attention for detail that has been put in them. I have certainly drawn inspiration from them.

The displaycase with the red fabric comes from IndigoRace.

The displaycase with green glass doors (I renamed it to Display Closet in the mod) is from Dongle.

Several displaycases from Chron Ventri.

Several displaycases from Lady E.

2 Tapestries in the Alchemy Room are from Dracus Dragoni.

The wooden Armor Mannequins are an original idea from Chris Janosi (he was the first??).

The labeled blue Alchemy Jars are from Jake the Snake.

The Alchemy Jars with icons on them are from Andoreth.

7. VERSION HISTORY

Version 1.1 is a minor update to Version 1.0. All that is changed are the Cell Names; every Cell of the interior now has "Crhange Manor" added as a prefix.
That's all. If you are using Version 1.0 without problems, (and there shouldn't be any!), there's no urgent need to upgrade to Version 1.1. If you do however, never use Version 1.0 and 1.1 at the same time!

8. THE LONG DESCRIPTION

I based this Crhange Manor mod for Morrowind on a part of the real existing Castle Felserburg in Larochette, Luxembourg. The real Crhange Manor has been restored 20 years ago and stands high on a rocky formation, a real eye-catcher!
I placed my Crhange Manor near Suran, because there are not many house mods placed here, the Siltstrider at Suran gives you good transportation facilities, and basically I just thought it looked good there! As an added bonus you can pretend that the slaves working the fields next to the Manor actually belong to the Crhange Manor (or not, depending on your abolitionist views...).
When walking towards it you'll notice it doesn't really look like a castle, more like a really big house. I retextured the rectangular Arrowslit from the Caldera Governer's Mansion, and a Nord Chimney to the greenish Imperial wall texture.
Once inside, you'll quickly change your mind about the size. You enter in the Main Hall which has on entering on the right a table with a Teleport Ring (just equip to instantly travel to your Manor, if you leave it on, you have to re-equip it to teleport again), and a book with some historical notes on the real Castle Felserburg.
You'll find a number of displaycases for displaying your weapons. Most of them need to be activated to lower the display lid, it will go up automatically after a number of seconds. The display closets with the green glass doors need to be activated to open AND activated to close. Same goes for the displaycases with the red fabric.
In the Main Hall are 16 Armor Mannequins located, 8 male mannequins in the corner with red light, 8 female mannequins in the corner with blue light. The armor mannequins can be dressed and undressed with armor or clothes. Just activate a mannequin to enable this function, do not press the button dispose of corpse while (un)dressing a mannequin because this will remove the mannequin from the game! Contrary to some other mods you can not pick the mannequins up to place them somewhere else.
In between these 2 mannequin corners is the door to the Stairs and Corridors which connect to all the other rooms. When entering the Stairs you can go up the stairs to the top and a trapdoor to a small attic which has some crates, containers and a small corner looking to belong to a Skooma addict!!
Going down on the Stairs you will come to a small corridor with 3 doors. On your right is the Library with lots of shelves and no books. You need to fill them yourself. I have provided a small reading corner.
On the left of the first corridor is the Alchemy Room, inspired for a large part by the excellent Alchemy Room from Phoebe's mod Abu's Retreat (used with her kind permission). It has labeled Alchemy Jars for all Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon ingredients. And also for Sri's Alchemy ingredients.
Last door on the first corridor is for the Private Quarters for the Master or the Lady of the Manor; a bed room, living room and dining room all in one!
Next down the stairs is the lowest corridor with 3 doors. On the right is the Kitchen, on the left is the Storage Room with wine barrels, food crates, some usable storage containers and a large pile of logs to keep the fires burning!
Last door here is for the Guard Barracks incorporating a small training facility.

All in all, a pretty decent sized and complete Manor I hope.

Enjoy.
